Members of the Ontario Nurses’ Affiliation who work at long-term care properties held data pickets at 37 areas throughout Ontario — together with Extendicare Southwood Lakes in Windsor — on Friday.
The affiliation representing 3,000 nurses, private help employees and visitor attendants is outlining its bargaining place heading into negotiations with employers this week.

ONA members head into talks with “corporations which have reported file earnings in recent times on the backs of workers and weak residents,” ONA stated in a launch.
Members are searching for higher staffing ratios and equal wages with hospitals so as to retain skilled workers within the long-term care sector, the discharge stated.
