Named after a gathering area or market in Greece, in line with Carter, the no reservations spot “is designed to be an extension of the market.” Impressed by the vigorous avenue markets and tavernas of Athens (together with the famed subterranean restaurant, Diporto), it revolves round a two-metre-long charcoal souvla and wooden fireplace oven, whereas Crittall home windows are designed to permit the restaurant to spill out onto the road. With all however one dish priced beneath £10, “It’s kind of dutty, a bit naughty, and really accessible,” says Carter. “You come for one skewer and a beer, otherwise you come for 2 full hours, we do not actually care.”
