French authorities on Friday detained a person after receiving an alert from the Iranian consulate in Paris that somebody had entered carrying an explosive, the capital’s police authority mentioned.
“The person has exited the consulate and is being” interrogated by police, it mentioned.
A safety supply earlier informed AFP that the mission known as in regulation enforcement after a witness noticed “a person enter carrying a grenade or an explosive belt”.
An AFP journalist mentioned the entire neighbourhood across the consulate within the capital’s sixteenth district had been closed off and a heavy police presence was in place.
Paris transport firm RATP on X, previously Twitter, mentioned visitors had been suspended on two metro traces that transit via stops near the constructing.
