French authorities have detained a person after receiving an alert from the Iranian consulate in Paris that somebody had entered carrying an explosive.
French Police mentioned the person has exited the consulate and is being interrogated by police.
Based on a report in Reuters, the person was seen at about 11 am getting into the consulate, carrying what seemed to be a grenade and explosive vest.
The world within the capital’s sixteenth district has been cordoned off following the incident and a heavy police presence have been put in place.
