Former Melbourne lecturer Paul Roos has given his verdict on this night’s hit.
Roos believes for Carlton to win, the Blues forwards should nullify the affect of Jake Lever, who is among the prominent intercept defenders within the festival.
“If I’m Carlton, the main thing I’m trying to do is sort out Jake Lever,” he informed the ABC’s AFL Day by day podcast.
” You talk about (Christian) Petracca, (Clayton) Oliver and the midfield, but the most important two players are Steven May and Jake Lever.
“If you’ll forbid Jake Lever from intercept marking and form him play games on any person (that’s a significant key).
“If I’m Michael Voss, I think you can compete in most areas of the ground (but) you have to respect Jake Lever.
“You must pluck Jake Lever’s intercept marking away to offer your self a anticipation this night.”
