Amnesty Worldwide is accusing Israel of a flagrant disregard for worldwide legislation throughout its offensive in Gaza. The organisation’s annual report says the scenario is being compounded by the failures of Israel’s allies to cease the indescribable civilian bloodshed being seen within the Palestinian enclave. It is likely one of the fundamental criticisms within the report, which says the world is seeing a near-breakdown of worldwide legislation, amid flagrant rule-breaking in Gaza and Ukraine, multiplying armed conflicts, the rise of authoritarianism and big human rights violations in Sudan, Ethiopia and Myanmar. In Perspective, we spoke to one of many researchers on the report who labored particularly on the Center East. Palestinian author Budour Hassan reiterated Amnesty’s name for Israel to permit to human rights investigators and journalists “unfettered entry” to Gaza.
