A seven-year-old boy has died following an incident at a swimming pool in Co Clare.
The boy was rushed by ambulance from the Leisure Centre on the Lakeside Lodge & Leisure Centre, which overlooks the picturesque cities of Ballina and Killaloe, this afternoon.
It’s understood the boy had attended a celebration on the resort.
The kid was rushed by ambulance to College Hospital Limerick the place he was later pronounced useless.
In response to queries, a Garda spokesman mentioned: “Gardaí and emergency companies responded to an incident at a swimming pool on a premises in Killaloe, Co. Clare, shortly earlier than 3pm on Saturday, April twentieth, 2024.”
“A 7-year-old boy was transported from the scene to College Hospital Limerick, the place he was later pronounced deceased.”

It’s understood the boy was recovered from the water unconscious and efforts had been desperately made to attempt to save his life on the poolside.
Garda sources mentioned they had been treating the boy’s loss of life as a “tragic accident”.
The pool on the resort’s leisure centre was instantly closed.
