Canada Post considering ending daily mail delivery as financial woes continue

I order a lot of packages… Canada post is the only one that when I see they are delivering…I say oh great… wonder when in two weeks I'll get that… and that is coming from only a couple provinces over. Everyone else..2 to 3 days. They are incompetent and slow and so not deliver on the weekends. This is where they are lacking. Fix the problem of weekend delivery.. cut the major players paychecks at the top that do literally nothin (that's an obvious considering the predicament they are in) and so something that no one has done before… come up with new ideas. Seems anytime you get GOVT involved this happens. NBPOWER and Canada post both are "Clown Crown" corps… both losing money but using OURS to pay the higher ups padded salaries for doing a bad job at managing.. any other job they would have been fired years ago..go figure

They need to get more competitive in their parcel deliveries then. It's 'Business 101' time. They need to do a S.W.O.T. Analysis and find out how to get better at handling parcels – and do other things to increase revenue. Work with E-Bay, for example. Provide a 'group discount' for sellers on E-Bay to encourage sellers to use Canada Post instead of another delivery service.

Centralization sorting of mail is driving the cost of mail delivery up. I send a letter to a community 36 miles north of me. It then goes from my community to Vancouver, almost 260 miles to the south, then sent back to the town to the north another 296 miles. That’s ridiculous in my most humble opinion.

I don't even get daily mail anymore, Canada post only delivers 3 times a week

I minimize my mail simply because it goes missing or I get other people's mail. Postal workers in my area just do not care about quality. Christmas is pretty much the only time for letters and cards.

Not delivering parcels to condos like other courier services do is a real problem and has impacted how I shop online. I don’t want to go to a store to pick up items I ordered to be delivered. Every other delivery service aside from Temu’s gets this. Delivery means to my door.

Why are Canadians even considering letting non permanent residents and refugee's have a vote in a federal election? I thought this was Canada, not Indianada.

you get more junk mail then real mail as carriers are paid to deliver the junk mail so extra cash

They need to maybe work with Amazon since they do hire 3rd party company to deliver in the country side in Canada.. so if they give those contracts to Canada post would help…

Honestly, if they moved to a Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 9-6 delivery schedule, they would keep the post delivery.. because, let's face it, hardly anyone checks the mail every day, and they would be better able to manage parcel delivery.. at the same time reducing thier work hours and saving money.

Stop funding the WARS and start funding what is required.

Shut it down and sell it to a private company. If employees worked full days then things would work. Another mismanaged government entity.

Innovate on e-services expand your reach. Our mail is delivered to the 38 units of our condo in a nice all in mail boxes spot. More of that would help downtown provided thieves would not destroyed them. Rural mail is another challenge but should not be abandoned. Offering banking services and saving accounts like in Japan.
