A date has been set for Conor McGregor’s long-awaited return to UFC.
After almost three years out, McGregor will step again into the octagon at UFC 303 on 29 June.
Dana White confirmed that the previous UFC featherweight and light-weight champion will struggle Michael Chandler.
The UFC confirmed the welterweight bout following UFC 300 in Las Vegas on Saturday and it is going to be contested over 5 rounds, going down on the finish of Worldwide Combat Week, in line with Sky Sports activities Information.
McGregor, 35, who has 22 wins and 6 defeats, has not competed within the UFC since July 2021 when he sustained a leg break towards Dustin Poirier.
He had beforehand fought and misplaced to Poirier six months earlier.
McGregor’s opponent Chandler has 23 wins and eight defeats.
Talking concerning the struggle, White mentioned on Saturday that McGregor’s return had been “all about timing”.

He mentioned: “There’s every kind of issues that go on behind the scenes and it is all about timing. Chandler’s been prepared however Conor hasn’t been prepared.
“We talked about this in one of many press conferences not too long ago, he had a variety of obligations that he needed to take care of.
“What you do not need him doing is accepting a struggle when he is bought a tonne of obligations and he cannot prepare 100% for a struggle, so right here we’re tonight.”
McGregor not too long ago starred within the remake of 1989 movie Highway Home.
