Sylvie Hauth has been charged with:
Obstruction of a public officer or peace officer. Breach of belief by a public officer. Obstruction of justice.
Hauth retired in 2023 after a three-decade profession in policing. She introduced her retirement in 2022 on the identical day the Ontario Civilian Police Fee introduced it will maintain hearings into misconduct allegations in opposition to her beneath the Police Companies Act.
Hauth is the third present or onetime member of the Thunder Bay Police Service who’s been charged by OPP in latest months.
