I cannot believe that Thomas is allowed to sit in on any case involving Herr trump. These politically appointed justices are beholden to their party/president (and of course those who give them gifts and favors and trips that are a conflict of a judge's intersest, period. They should have to step down until they are investigated for their abuse of power, especially when a spouse who supported an insurrection against the USA election. This is an insult the the intelligence and patience of the American people who actually believe in our laws and respect them.

An action to remove that relic of a king, the pardon power. It is too powerful in the hands of someone like Trump. You saw how he could use it to tell people to break the law for him because he would certainly pardon them. Something MUST be done to either remove it or at least restrict it to persons who have no connection at all with the president or the government. Legislating that restriction would be difficult so better to just get rid of it altogether.

Trump annoys me to the highest level! This all started with him refusing to transition out of his presidential seat! If he had done nothing and campaigned for 2024, he would win by a landslide because Biden is so unpopular. His social pathology does not equip him to make positive decisions for the American people.
This whole conversation is stupid! No president is immune. This is very serious, people. Trump has already publicly threatened people who simply have political disagreements. That sounds eerily like a dictator or king. There will be no checks and balances. His supporters are constructing their own demise. If an immunity change occurs, the President does not have to go through the proper legal channels to challenge the y use of the military to shoot them all and ask questions later. He will be immune from any prosecution for murdering his opponents. The concern would be any president would consider anyone who does not agree with him as an opponent.
Furthermore, the president could simply dismiss any Supreme Court justice and replace them. Some of these Justices are preparing their own demise! The female justices are asking common sense questions that regular people can understand. and Trump's attorney is clearly stating that Trump should have blanket immunity, which is scary.
I do not see the need for adding a law that provides immunity to the president of the United States for anything. Any president that commits questionable crimes should face accountability.
