I felt a mild earthquake for a couple of minutes 2014 while in the local market in Chiang Mai, Thailand…where earthquakes are rare and where people don't tend to get too "hyped up" about emergencies – they just go with the flow! Hadn't seen any predictions, since it's difficult to get up-to-date local news in English there if you don't use a smartphone. And I remember a big one happened in Washington, D.C., I think around 2011, shortly after I had left for Sri Lanka…damaged the National Cathedral…another rare earthquake on the East Coast. I grew up and went to university and spent my early 20s in the U.S. East Coast (Georgia, Maine, Boston, New York) and never experienced any earthquake or other kind of disaster there during the 1990s…when I volunteered for the Joint Assistance Centre, an NGO specializing in disaster management (mainly as a way to get work experience in a less developed country) in 1997, I was so surprised to hear about disaster prep and preparedness from the Indian people and from international volunteers from California, Japan, and other areas.

I was in my school, 3rd period before lunch, I felt it a lot. Everyone in the school frightened.

I'm from Southern California, San Diego. I've felt earthquakes all my life they are very strange phenomenal. You feel dizzy you see everything shaking & swaying. You hear & feel the vibration when you feel them often you get really attune to them & you can feel the minor ones also I remember laying in bed one time & feel a 4.1 that happened in Mexicali. The craziest part is when you see what moved after.

The earthquake was obviously caused by too much greenhouse gas emissions and excessive methane from cows’ passing gas in Texas. Brooklyn can only recover and retain a calmer land mass if all vehicles are electric by 2028 and all roofs are solar paneled!!

Myself and others who felt this were definitely surprised but generally the 4.8 magnitude quake didn’t seem to frighten or really scare people for too long.

After that, New York will follow to sink into the sea. The reason is, that the Atlantic back will be rise over the sea. Alos in Europe coastes will sink under the sea. My sister said her building shook in Brooklyn, NY. She’s fine and nothing broke. I live in Connecticut, we felt a little shake here as well.

The concern is most buildings in the area are very old .

I'm in New Haven, CT, and I felt it. My bedroom is directly over my apartment complex's maintenance garage, so I thought it was them doing a repair or using heavy equipment. Then, I got a bunch of alerts on my phone. While it was happening, I was watching my standing fan shake, and I was just thinking, "Am I imagining this?" because it was like something was just slightly off.
