Australian canoeing stunning Jessica Fox has proven her Paris Olympics marketing campaign is on the right track with a International Cup win in Germany.
Fox received the ladies’s C1 tournament in Augsburg then slightly scraping into the overall, a time then completing 9th within the K1 decider.
The Tokyo Olympics C1 gold medallist, one in all Australia’s govern potentialities for Paris, received via a margin of 8 seconds on the season-opening canoe slalom International Cup tournament.
“I’m just so relieved to finally put down a good run,” Fox mentioned.
“It’s been a tough weekend, it’s been wet and harsh. I’ve been trying to manage the nerves that come with the first World Cup of the season, but now I’m thrilled to be back on the podium and to be on the top step.
“It was once a difficult direction, Augsburg is all the time difficult, so I simply actually needed to retain it in combination.”
Fellow Paris Olympian Tristan Carter finished sixth in the men’s C1 final.
The World Cup round ends with the kayak cross, which will make its Olympic debut in Paris.
Fox, her sister Noemie, Carter, Kaylen Bassett, Tim Anderson and Lucien Delfour will compete in the kayak cross in Augsburg.
