There seems to be a lack of imagination in how to solve regional areas. Other parts of the World do some things a lot better than us but we dont take their ideas.

All of these government grants go onto what is effectively an auction, where local councils have to spend months creating some intricate presentation bid to win them.
Right at the end of the auction, their bid is rejected for some spurious reason. Without any time to prepare again or refute this, the grant is won by some 'True Blue' Tory council.
The whole thing is a massive scam, designed to kick the North and any regions with historically high proportions of working-class public further into the gutter.
The Conservative Party has been ideologically dead-set about punishing the North and every mining community since the unions stood up against them back in the 70's and 80's.
It's been in their soul to be cruel, nasty and to take every opportunity to kick the working class. It's why they still sneer plebs at us when their honeyed lies and fake smiles slip.
They give rich Tory Party landlords and investment bankers free reign to snap up properties on the cheap in the North, making them far too expensive for local residents to buy up.
They've let Tory Party members in top positions of councils get away with anything they like, no criminal investigations, even if they ruin the area. It's all for their Grand Agenda.
With any luck, they'll be gone in the next election…but they'll be slithering around, waiting for the moment when the idiots among us have forgotten their cruelty and fall for their lies.
